5 Reasons to Travel to San Diego

San Diego is one of the most visited destinations in California. Tourists come for the climate, the sand and the many attractions that SD has to offer. Whether you’re looking to party or simply a nice, relaxing vacation to take your mind off work, this sunny southern California city has something to offer. Here are just 5 reasons to visit San Diego.

1. The Weather

The year-round mild, sunny weather enjoyed by the city of San Diego has a rejuvenating effect. You can come on almost any month of the year and be sure to find sunshine and warmth along with cool ocean breezes. This Mediterranean climate occurs in very few regions of the world.

2. The Beaches

San Diego has some of the most beautiful beaches in California. Traveling down the coastline of San Diego County you’ll find prime surf spots, good for beginners and novices, or if you simply want to lay down in the sand and work on your tan, you’ll find no shortage of sandy beaches. There are also the sea cliffs of La Jolla and Torrey pines that let you see some of the most spectacular views of the Pacific Coastline.

3. The Nightlife

Being one of the major cities in the state of California, SD has a dynamic nightlife. Downtown San Diego, and the historic Gaslamp District especially, has some of the hottest dance clubs, bars and live music venues all within walking distance of each other. If you’re looking for night spots with a more bohemian flair, you can also check out the North Park and Hillcrest areas. You’ll find salsa dancing, sports bars, gallery openings and special events happening every week.

4. Nautical Attractions

San Diego has a beautiful harbor. Visitors can take guided Harbor Excursions and Cruises as well as check out the world-famous Maritime Museum, which consists of four historic sea vessels including “The Star of India” (one of the oldest working sail ships in the world), the “HMS Surprise” (featured in the film Master and Commander) and a real Cold War era Soviet submarine.

5. Family Fun

The famous SeaWorld theme park is located in SD, where kids and grownups can both enjoy the thrilling rides and amazing animal shows. There’s also Balboa Park, which contains the World Famous SD Zoo as well as 10 world-renowned museums with exhibits that will wow parents and children alike.
