Colts’ Darius Leonard says he was racially profiled, kicked out of Chipotle



The CEO of Chipotle says the corporate is investigating an incident at its Florence, S.C., location that prompted Colts linebacker Darius Leonard to accuse the restaurant’s supervisor and a buyer of racial profiling.

The 24-year-old Professional Bowler on Thursday posted a video to his Instagram account wherein he defined the incident.

“Me, three different black guys and a blended lady. We’re sitting there, simply casually consuming, away from all people,” Leonard defined within the video. “Towards the top of our meal, the supervisor (walked) up. We’re not understanding why the supervisor’s strolling up, give you a horrible perspective, asking us do we’ve an issue. We have been all misplaced, making an attempt to determine what is going on on.

“He is saying {that a} white man mentioned we have been verbally abusing him, speaking trash to him. It was mainly a lie. And we mainly received kicked out of Chipotle due to that, they usually mentioned they have been going to name the police, they needed to name the police on us.”

“We’re at present investigating the incident involving Darius Leonard in Florence, South Carolina,” Chipotle CEO Brian Niccol mentioned (by way of Professional Soccer Speak). “We have now a zero tolerance coverage for discrimination of any variety and we’ve suspended our supervisor whereas we conduct a radical investigation.

“I’ve personally reached out to Darius and I’m dedicated to making sure the suitable motion is taken as soon as the investigation concludes.”

Leonard, a South Carolina native, was chosen by Indianapolis within the second spherical of the 2018 NFL Draft. He earned a primary group All-Professional nod as a rookie and was a Professional Bowler final season.
