The Cowboys are looking to remain atop the lowly NFC East on Sunday, but the visiting Rams should offer a significant challenge.
Los Angeles (8-5) is coming off a big, 28-12 win over the Seahawks to remain in the playoff hunt. Dallas (6-7) has lost three games in a row, a spiral that left them tied with the Eagles for the division lead entering Week 15 but still holding the tiebreaker thanks to their win over Philadelphia earlier this season.

A loss would be disastrous for both team’s playoff chances. The Rams are hanging on by a thread in the NFC wild-card hunt, and Philadelphia beat the Redskins earlier Sunday.

During halftime, the officiating crew is expected to discuss with New York office who will receive to begin second half in Cowboys-Rams. Could still be Dallas despite coin-toss confusion.

Halftime: Cowboys 28, Rams 7

5:20 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, COWBOYS. They’re coming fast and furious now. Prescott hits Tavon Austin for a wide-open 59-yard score. Two Rams defenders ran into each other, freeing him up. Cowboys 14, Rams 7.
5:15 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, Rams. Los Angeles ties it up with a pretty easy 75-yard touchdown drive. Jared Goff to Todd Gurley for a 2-yard score. Cowboys 7, Rams 7.

5:00 p.m.: TOUCHDOWN, Cowboys. Dak Prescott hits Jason Witten, whose one-handed catch is a 19-yard score. Cowboys 7, Rams 0.
4:56 p.m.: Whole lot of punts early.
4:44 p.m.: Potential disaster here. Dak may have screwed up the coin toss, saying Dallas will “kick off” rather than “defer” after correctly calling the flip. Needless to say it will not go over well if this is the case.
Gonna be really interesting if the #Cowboys really do have to kickoff to start both halves… there was some serious confusion pregame, as the coin toss developed.
If they really did make that mistake, it is utterly ridiculous.
