Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been handed a three-game ban by the Soccer Affiliation (FA) for elbowing Leeds United defender Ben White.
The FA has retrospectively punished Mitrovic for an incident that occurred simply two minutes into Leeds’ 3-Zero Championship win over Fulham at Elland Highway on Saturday.
Referee Tony Harrington didn’t see the incident on the time however Mitrovic admitted the act constituted violent conduct and he has subsequently been banned.
Fulham, fifth within the desk, are 10 factors behind leaders Leeds and 7 adrift of second-placed West Brom with seven video games to go.
Mitrovic is the Championship’s joint high scorer having netted 23 of his group’s 52 targets in 2019-20.
The 25-year-old will miss matches towards QPR, Birmingham Metropolis and Nottingham Forest.
The striker admitted his behaviour in or across the third minute of the match was in breach of FA Rule E1(a) and constituted violent conduct, in an incident which was not seen by match officers however was caught on video.
