Only one player spoke during the pregame ceremony honoring the late Kobe Bryant, and it was LeBron James.
The current Los Angeles Lakers star had a piece of paper with his speech written down, but he put it aside and said he was going to speak from the heart instead.
James began by recognizing each of the nine people who died in Sunday’s helicopter crash. He spoke about family, what Kobe meant to him, and he tried to make the focus on Kobe a positive one.
