By now, you have HOPEFULLY heard the thrilling information that Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hit musical, Hamilton, will quickly be accessible to stream on Disney+.
After the trailer’s launch, a fan on Twitter seen that the film was rated PG-13, not R, and requested Lin-Manuel whether or not this meant that Disney had censored their display model of the musical:
And as Lin-Manuel defined in his response, Disney’s film is just about an identical to the stage model — besides for 2 F-bombs.
“[The Motion Picture Association of America] has a tough rule about language: greater than 1 utterance of ‘Fuck’ is an computerized R ranking,” Lin-Manuel tweeted. “We now have 3 ‘Fucks’ in our present. So…”
“I actually gave two fucks so the youngsters might see it,” Lin-Manuel joked. He went on to disclose that Disney took out the “fucks” from two songs, “Yorktown” and “Washington On Your Aspect,” to earn that PG-13 ranking.
“You may sing whatEVER you want at house (even sync up the album)!” he assured his followers. “Love you. Get pleasure from.”
Followers instantly began flooding Lin-Manuel’s replies, questioning if different ~grownup~ moments from the present had been reduce by Disney. Lin-Manuel responded to lots of them, assuring Hamilton followers that these iconic traces had all been preserved:
Hamilton debuts on Disney+ on July 3, and I for one might NOT be extra excited. Even when I do need to sing “SOUTHERN MOTHERFUCKIN’ DEMOCRATIC REPUBLICANS” all on my own.
