Marco Rubio advocates for COVID-19 vaccinations by serving to himself first

Creator Don Winslow tweeted: “. @marcorubio is the man from Titanic who grabs a child simply so he can bounce forward of the road for a lifeboat. ‘I’ve a toddler! I’ve a toddler!’” Democratic strategist Kaivan Shroff tweeted: “Each janitor in each COVID wing of each hospital ought to have gotten the vaccine earlier than feckless Marco Rubio. It’s absurd.” Political strategist Ana Navarro-Cárdenas tweeted: “Younger, wholesome Senator, who spoke at rallies packed w/1000’s w/o masks, who helps Trump -who’s down-played COVID & mocked those that put on masks, is 1st to get vaccine whereas most medical staff, aged & infirm People, wait. Congratulations on ur privilege, @marcorubio.”

Don’t get me mistaken. There’s nothing mistaken with lawmakers, nurses, and different politicians getting vaccinated within the hopes of inspiring most people to take action. However when the very politicians preventing expert-recommended recommendation to scale back the virus’ unfold and conserving much-needed coronavirus reduction funds tied up in political pink tape begin shouting me first with reference to vaccines, I discover it a bit gag-worthy.

Rubio, after all, isn’t the one Republican placing his wants earlier than his constituents. Sen. Lindsey Graham, of South Carolina, and Senate Majority Chief Mitch McConnell made certain to get vaccinated too. Mary Trump, creator and niece of President Donald Trump, tweeted Saturday: “Mitch McConnell is a traitor to this nation. That he obtained the vaccine after willfully failing to guard us from Covid-19 is obscene. That he is persevering with to dam help to People that might assist them survive the catastrophes his social gathering created is unconscionable.”
