If you see a rectangle logo that comes with the colors of blue, red, and white, then you are surely looking at the official logo of the fashion mogul known as Tommy Hilfiger. It was actually during the 90s when Tommy Hilfiger started making the rounds in the urban fashion scene. However, it was in the late 60s when Hilfiger ventured into the fashion arena.
Hilfiger’s first ever retail business was founded in 1969 in upstate New York. In the latter portion of the 70s, Hilfiger moved his retail business to the Big Apple itself. It was then here that Hilfiger scored financial backing to start what is now known as Tommy Hilfiger, Inc. The first ever signature collection that was launched by Hilfiger was in 1984, which was comprised of men’s sportswear and jeans. It did not take long for Hilfiger to realize that there is much promise that comes with the expansion of his product line. During the middle part of the 90s, he then ventured into just about everything for women. He also developed eyewear, jewelry, fragrances, and even home products. The great thing about Hilfiger’s creations does not pertain to style at all because if you would look at his logo, it is as simple as any logo can get. However, the marketing prowess that Hilfiger has certainly created a lot of waves for him, even placing him at the top portion of the market.
So many fashion moguls and gurus have referred to Tommy Hilfiger as the new Ralph Lauren because their successful stories can certainly be likened to some extent. However, this does not go without saying that Hilfiger did come out in his own when it came to fashion. And the great thing about Hilfiger items is that his designs remain very simple and casual all throughout product lines and expansions. In fact, even with the new fragrances that have been developed, such as Tommy Girl and Freedom, the perfume bottles just sport the classic logo that we have associated with the brand for so many years now.
Over the years, you might say that the brand of Hilfiger has suffered somewhat overexposure. Still, the brand remains one of the stronger ones in the market.
