What will it take to inspire you to great heights? Imagine yourself standing at the base of Mount Everest, the tallest mountain on Earth. Will you make that climb or slump back down to the warmth, safety, and mediocrity of everyday living? Those climbers, who prepare themselves mentally, overcome the challenges and obstacles they face when they make the climb; it all starts in the mind. They replace a word in this sentence “I think I can,” to “I know I can.” There is a difference between these 2 sentences; the first statement shows a sign of doubt and apprehension, the second statement shows a sign that nothing is impossible. I am going to focus on how you can feed that motivation and inspiration for success.
On April 20th 2016, I was taking a walk down my driveway, my mind constantly thinking about certain types of inspiration that would motivate people to seek for happiness and success. It then dawned on me that someone can find inspiration from hearing the songs of birds, watching plants and trees grow, looking at the colors of flowers, a picture of your family, a stroke of a brush, your favorite music, the laughter of children, your favorite book, caring and tending to another human being or animal, taking a walk out in the wilderness, or simply staring at a small campfire. These are all sorts of inspirations that will help your dreams become a reality, whether you are seeking to better yourself or become financially secure.
The first step is to write or get the item(s) that will inspire you to keep moving forward, obstacles will arise to prevent you from being happy, so it is critical to have your inspiration nearby to help you get through the tough times.
The second step is to start working on your talent(s). Stop thinking about the, “I think I can.” This phrase is like a candy bar, it will give you short burst energy, but in the end, you will have a sugar crash. With this in mind, if you are trying to stop a harmful habit, let’s say that you are going to stop drinking alcohol, if you say, “I think I can stop drinking alcohol,” you are setting a goal that has no clarification on how you are going to do this, plus, you will crash hard and go back to that same destructive behavior.
“I know,” is the fuel that will motivate you to succeed in your personal life. It will help you break any destructive behaviors and loosen the invisible chains which binds you down.
I know that I can:
- Overcome any addiction(s).
- Be the best writer and author in the world.
- Be a better parent.
- Overcome any physical or mental disability.
- Create a work of art.
- Be a better student.
- Excel in the field of medicine
- Become a better reader.
- And many more…
In conclusion, I want you to sit down and ask yourself this question, “What is your motivation and inspiration for success?” Once you have created your own personal strategy for self-improvement, start working on your plan today. The path to success and happiness does not belong to the privileged, it belongs to those who are inspired and motivated to make a change in their life.
